The popular golf retailer has announced an opening date for its new Norwalk store, the company's first location in Connecticut.
NORWALK, CT — Popular golf retailer PGA TOUR Superstore has announced an opening date for its new Norwalk store, the company's first location in Connecticut.
Store officials confirmed the Norwalk location will open Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. at 51 Richards Avenue.
"Norwalk is a welcoming, community-driven city, and we are creating a retail experience that reflects that," a store spokesperson said to Patch. "Whether you're a seasoned player, just getting started or shopping for others, PGA TOUR Superstore is designed to meet our guests where they are."

The 25,000 square-foot store in the bustling Connecticut Avenue area of the city will offer something for everyone, whether they golf every weekend or are picking up a club for the first time, according to additional press materials provided by the company.
The store will host a grand opening celebration Aug. 16 featuring thousands of dollars in giveaways, including iron sets, drivers, putters, rangefinders, apparel and more, along with opening specials all weekend long, according to the company.

The Norwalk location will feature a broad assortment of equipment, apparel and accessories for the whole family, including the latest styles from top golf brands and new and emerging names in golf fashion and performance.
The spokesperson noted the company typically looks to open new stores in communities with "good golf penetration," and Norwalk and its surrounding area fit that criteria very well.
"The location at 51 Richards sits in a vibrant corridor with strong tenants that draws foot traffic throughout the week, which will give us a nice opportunity to become part of peoples' regular shopping routine," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson noted the location's close proximity to U.S. Route 1 and Interstate 95 was also a factor, offering convenience and easy accessibility for local and regional visitors.
"I would also add that the space is already configured for big-box layout," the spokesperson said, "which allows for a faster build-out and opening versus new construction."
The opening will mark the first PGA TOUR Superstore location in Connecticut.
Currently, the closest superstore locations to Norwalk are in areas of New York such as White Plains, Westbury and Commack, as well as Paramus and East Hanover in New Jersey.
According to the spokesperson, the company's associates are one of the top factors that set PGA TOUR Superstores apart from other golf and sporting equipment stores in the area.
"What we're most proud of at PGA TOUR Superstore is, first and foremost, our associates," the spokesperson said. "They are the foundation of everything we do; trained, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the game. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional customer experience, and at PGA TOUR Superstore we like to say we're in the relationship business, not the transaction business."
The spokesperson also emphasized that PGA TOUR Superstore is an experiential retailer.
"From lessons and custom fittings to interactive practice bays and a large putting green, we create a hands-on environment where players can learn, improve and enjoy the game," the spokesperson said. "We also offer in-store services like club re-gripping and repair."
As the company prepares to open its first Connecticut location, the spokesperson hinted other new stores could pop up in the state at a future date.
"Connecticut has a thriving golf scene and we're thrilled to join this passionate community with our first store in the state," the spokesperson said. "Right now, our focus is on bringing the PGA TOUR Superstore experience to Norwalk and delivering something special for the community. That said, the Northeast has been, and will continue to be, a key region for our brick-and-mortar expansion. We're committed to growing our presence where there's such a strong interest in the game."
