Person Injured, Found Inside Car On Fire In Garage Of Norwalk Home: FD
Fire officials said an occupant of the home was found inside the car and a wall had to be breached to remove them from the vehicle.
NORWALK, CT — A person was taken to a hospital burn unit Wednesday morning after they were found inside a car on fire in the garage of a multifamily home, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shay said the fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at a Fairfield Avenue home.
When crews arrived, they found a car on fire in the garage of a three-story multifamily home, Shay said.

As crews fought the blaze, they found an occupant of the home inside the car, Shay said.
Due to limited space, a wall had to be breached to be able to open the car and remove the person from the vehicle, according to Shay.

The person was taken to Norwalk Hospital, then to the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital, Shay said.
The fire was contained to the garage area of the home with smoke damage to floors above, Shay said.
No other injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation, according to Shay.
