Police: $500 Stolen in Shell Robbery

A robbery was reported at the Shell gas station on West Avenue Tuesdaynight, according to police.

The store clerk called police at 9:44 p.m. and reported that a man had come up to the register with a bottle of Coca-Cola. When she opened the register to check him out, the man allegedly jumped over the counter and forcibly reached into the register, police said.

He reportedly took approximately $500 in cash before running out of the store, located at 94 West Ave. The man displayed no weapons, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
