NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man wanted on a warrant was arrested Tuesday morning near Westport Avenue following a lengthy search, according to police.
The department announced on Facebook just before 9 a.m. that a police operation was underway near Fullin Road in Norwalk.
In a news release, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said officers found Hopeton Marsh, 40, of Norwalk, hiding inside a relative's home on the adjacent Fullin Court after a lengthy search and receiving numerous calls from residents.

Marsh was arrested after officers established a perimeter around the area based on information gathered during their investigation, Podgorski said.
The arrest was connected to an investigation launched after a person reported ongoing harassment from Marsh last week, according to Podgorski.

After further investigation, officers learned Marsh was on parole and that contacting the person who reported the incident was a direct violation of his parole conditions, Podgorski said.
Based on their investigation, police applied for and were granted a warrant for Marsh's arrest, according to Podgorski.
Marsh was remanded into the custody of parole authorities following his arrest, Podgorski said.
He was charged by warrant with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree harassment. He was also charged on site with interfering with an officer.
He was released on a promise to appear in court this week, according to Podgorski.
"The Norwalk Police Department would like to thank the residents who provided information during the search, as well as to those whose day was impacted by the police presence," Podgorski said in a news release. "Our community's cooperation played an important role in the successful resolution of this case."
