Popular Restaurant Bowling Alley Chain Suddenly Closes Norwalk Location

The Norwalk restaurant and entertainment venue was the chain's only location in Connecticut.

NORWALK, CT — Pinstripes, a popular restaurant and bowling alley chain, suddenly closed its location at the SoNo Collection mall this week as the company files for Chapter 11, according to a company spokesperson.

In an email to Patch, a spokesperson confirmed the Norwalk venue, the company's sole location in Connecticut, had closed as of Monday.

According to the spokesperson, Pinstripes Holdings, Inc. and certain affiliates, with the support of its senior secured lenders, "filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions, pursuant to which [the company] will seek to run a court-approved marketing and sale process."

"In connection therewith, we have a committed buyer for our continuing locations, and we will continue to market our assets as a going concern to maximize value," the spokesperson said. "This decision was made to strengthen our financial foundation by reducing liabilities, including closing certain locations, to ensure business continuity and to position the company for long-term success and growth."

The spokesperson also noted the company intends to move through this process "as quickly as possible," during which the company "will continue to operate as usual, serving our customers, working with our partners and supporting our team members."

Any Pinstripes gift cards or event deposits will be honored at continuing locations, according to the spokesperson.

"We are confident this step will allow us to emerge stronger and better positioned to serve guests and stakeholders in the future," the spokesperson said.

The doors to the SoNo Collection location on the mall's third floor were closed during regular business hours Tuesday, and signs could be seen posted to the windows that read "we are closed for business today. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes."

The Norwalk location was already removed from the official Pinstripes website as of Tuesday afternoon.

Pinstripes locations typically offer a menu of made-from-scratch Italian-American cuisine, as well as handcrafted cocktails and a full bar served in an entertainment space that features bowling and bocce.

Pinstripes currently operates locations in Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota and California, as well as Washington, D.C., according to the website.
