Rose Macari, age 72 of Rowayton, wife of the late John G. Macari, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Castelforte, Italy, she was the daughter of the late David and Francesca (Saltarelli) DiSpirito. Rose was retired from Machlett Laboratories where she worked for many years.
She was a very passionate and active woman who loved life. She was an avid gardener with an ongoing love for nature. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
One of the many things that will never be forgotten is the special relationship she had with each of her grandchildren and the incredible love she had for her family. She will be missed terribly by all those fortunate to have known her.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Anita Grundy and her husband Andrew of Greenwich, Marina Lametta and her husband Kenny of Westport and Stephanie Devine and her husband Dan of Westport, 8 cherished grandchildren: Alexandra and Ryan Grundy, Vincent, Chris and Juliana Lametta, and Brooke, Kristin and Daniel Devine. A brother: Enzo DiSpitiro of Italy, A sister: Anita Fragnoli of Italy, many nieces and nephews as well as longtime friend and companion Frank Toner of Guilford. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph DiSpirito of Stamford.
