Swerving Driver Charged With Driving Under The Influence: Police

The suspect also had an illegal knife in his pocket, Westport police said.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man suspected of driving drunk is now facing charges after being pulled over in Westport.

In a news release, Westport police said the suspect, 31-year-old Peter Ferraro, was pulled over just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 6 after officers noticed his car swerving and crossing the center line several times.

Officers pulled Ferraro over and gave him a field sobriety test, which he reportedly failed, according to the release.

He was arrested and searched, and an illegal knife was found in his pocket, police said.

Ferraro was taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was released after posting $1,000 bail and is set to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 12.
