Children's Charity Event and Free Yoga Classes

Here are five things Norwalk residents to need to know for Wednesday, July 24.

Here are a few things to know about Norwalk for Wednesday, July 24 to help you plan your day. Check out the Patch calendar of events for more things to do.

  1. The weather: The forecast is predicting a high of 83 degrees and mostly sunny skies with a 20 percent chance of rain. 
  2. Take your kids out to support charity: Pump It Up of Norwalk is having the Great Open Jump Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. The event includes a magic show, a tour of a firetruck and a chance to meet Norwalk firemen and chance to touch animals like lizards, tree frogs and rabbits, as well as a raffle. It costs $10 per child, all of which goes toward Autism Speaks. For more information, click here.
  3. Go to a town meeting: The Parking Authority, Historical Commission and Harbor Management Commission are all holding meetings Wednesday evening. For details, visit the town calendar.
  4. Relax at a free yoga class: The Norwalk Public Library will be having two free yoga classes Wednesday, taught by Sarawati's Yoga Joint teachers. The class from 5 to 5:30 p.m. is for children ages 3 to 12 and their parents or caregivers, and the class from 6 to 7 p.m. is for teenagers and adults. Both events are in the Main Library's Full Auditorium, and though no registration is required, there is only space for 60 people. For more information, call 203-899-2780.
  5. Buy some fresh produce: The Wilton Farmers' Market is held every Wednesday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Wilton Historical Society at 224 Danbury Rd. Stop buy to talk to local residents and get some fresh, local goods.
