Wink, Norwalk’s former Republican deputy registrar, and Lametta had been embroiled in an ongoing tenant and landlord dispute, according to News 12. In 2021, Wink had been charged with criminal lockout, with police claiming she had illegally locked Lametta out of his residence, documents show. Jurors also convicted her on that count, and she is due to be sentenced in September, according to CT Insider. (Read the full CT Insider story).

Wink claimed she was acting in self-defense when she shot Lametta. Lametta had been secretly recording the fatal encounter with his landlord, and jurors were able to review the footage, according to News 12. (Read the full News 12 Connecticut story).
