Victim: Blindfolded, Beaten and Bitten in Norwalk

An incident on Thursday night began with a trip to a laundromat and a fight.

On Dec. 19 at 7:47p.m. Norwalk Police received a report of a robbery in the area of Cliff Street. According to Lt. Paul Resnick a gentleman entered a beauty salon at 21 Bouton Street and asked the manager to call Norwalk Police because he said he had been robbed.

According to Resnick, the victim described his assailants in Spanish to someone at the beauty salon as a short thin Hispanic male and a heavy set Hispanic male in a blue hoodie, khakis and displaying a hammer and two hand guns.

The victim later relayed to a Spanish speaking police officer a complex story of a trip to the laundromat, a fight, a beating, a bite on the arm and a robbery of an Apple iPhone 5, bank card and a small amount of cash.

According to Lt. Resnick the victim described having been doing laundry when the two assailants arrived and all three men engaged in a fight that that ended when the complainant asked for forgiveness. The complainant reported agreeing to go to a house with his two assailants, who he knew from his neighborhood.

The victim said he and his assailants entered a basement through an outside window whereupon one of the assailants pulled out a large knife and threatened to kill him if he called police. The victim reported that one of his assailants retrieved two fake hand guns and a hammer, covered his eyes and beat him with an object he could not see.

The victim told police that after being beaten he and his assailants left the basement, and as they walked along Bouton Street he yelled for help, tried to escape, and a struggle ensued. At that point a resident came out of his building, yelled, 'Let him go,' and the two assailants fled toward Oak Street.

Once police were contacted by the beauty salon, EMS transported the victim to Norwalk Hospital where he was determined to have scrapes on his nose, knuckles and back, in addition to a bite mark on his arm.

According to Lt. Resnick, detectives canvassed the neighborhood and laundromat.

"Nothing but clean clothes were found," Lt. Resnick said, though the investigation is ongoing.
