• Huge Lottery Winner Sold At Norwich Store (patch.com) — A Baltic resident has claimed a $25,000 prize in the CT Lottery’s Play 4 game with a ticket purchased at Beanhill Spirit Shoppe on West Town Street in Norwich. While the winner chose to remain anonymous, the lottery confirmed the Norwich store as the lucky sales location, highlighting another notable payout tied to the city. 
• Gun used in fatal New Haven Halloween shootout found in 17-year-old's bedroom, warrant shows (ctpost.com) — A Norwich resident and CT State Community College Three Rivers student, 18-year-old Alexa Acevedo, was fatally shot during a downtown New Haven Halloween shootout, and police now say ballistics link a gun found in a 17-year-old’s bedroom to her death. The Derby teen faces murder and multiple firearm charges as investigators piece together surveillance, license plate data and phone records.
