Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater

Registration is now open for Winter Programs at Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater, located at 128 Washington Street in Middletown! Beginning January 5, weekly classes in theater, circus and other performing arts will be offered for toddlers to 20 year olds.
Saturday Classes with Meg Berritta begin on January 10 and serve children from 15 months to eight years old. Classes include Acrobabies (ages 15 months - 3 years with caregiver; 9:15 - 9:55 am); Faerie Tale Theater Presents: Stories Inspired by Hans Christian Anderson (ages 3 - 6, 10 - 10:55 am); Circrobatics (ages 3 - 6, 11 - 11:55 am); and Circobalance (ages 5 - 8, Noon - 1 pm). All Saturday classes culminate in a Share Day for parents on March 7.
The Teen Repertory Company and Circophony Teen Circus provide training and performance opportunities for young people ages 13 -20. This winter teens interested in either theater or circus can choose from 4 different 6-week classes starting the week of January 5 and culminating in a Teen Winter Showcase on Friday, February 13. These are offered in preparation for an original Spring Spectacle, created and directed by Artistic Director Dic Wheeler, combining theater, circus and Commedia dell’ Arte in a comic history of the world.
All Teen Winter classes meet 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Mondays will be Foundations to Performance: Teen Acting Intensive with Leland Williams. Tuesdays offer Performance Acrobatics with Naja Muller. Wednesdays is Circus Skills for Actors with Joel Melendez. Thursdays provide Commedia dell’ Arte with Dic Wheeler. Students may enroll in one, two three or even all four classes, and tuition is incentivized to encourage taking multiple classes.
After-School classes for ages 6 - 14 begin January 5 and will run for eight weeks this winter, culminating in a “Share Week” March 2 - 5. Most classes run 4:50 -5:50 pm.
Stage One classes for ages 6 - 8 include Imagination Field Trips on Mondays, Circus I on Tuesdays, Art-Tastic Acrobatics on Wednesdays and Who Knows Jack? on Thursdays.
Stage Two classes for ages 9 - 11 include Musical Theater: Matilda! on Mondays, Circus II on Tuesdays, Slapping and Slapstick (for ages 9 - 14) on Wednesdays, and Acting for the Stage on Thursdays.
Stage Three, for ages 12 - 14, includes the Junior Rep Mainstage production of Charlotte’s Web, for which students must audition on either December 15 or 18. Rehearsals will start January 5 and performances are March 12 - 14. Stage Three students may also enroll in Slapping and Slapstick (for ages 9 - 14) which meets on Wednesdays, 4:50 - 5:50 pm.&nbsp;
Middletown Public School students may complement their class experience with Oddbridge, an extended day program which provides transport from Middletown schools to the Playhouse, a snack, and supervised arts activities, games and homework help before classes start. Oddbridge extends throughout the school year, providing special programs and field trips on early dismissal days.

 Vista’s A Shared Stage Productions is thrilled to partner once again with The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (The Kate) to present the 2026 musical production of The Wedding Singer.&nbsp;This year marks A Shared Stage Productions’ 11th all-abilities musical, featuring a unified cast and crew composed of both Vista students and members, as well as community participants. The production will run from Friday May 15 through Sunday May 17, 2026, at The Kate in Old Saybrook, under the direction of Neil Fuentes.  Neil Fuentes, affectionately known as “The Singing Chef,” is a vibrant multi-hyphenate entertainer, educator, and community leader with roots in Caracas, Venezuela. He grew up captivated by the artistry and pageantry of Miss Venezuela, which inspired his lifelong passion for performance. In 1995, Neil emigrated to the United States, starting his career in the restaurant industry and eventually becoming the Special Events and Catering Director for SBC in Connecticut. Neil’s charisma and culinary talents took him to television, where he gained recognition as “The Singing Chef” on WTNH. He has appeared in national commercials and Food Network shows, blending his Venezuelan heritage with music, cooking, and storytelling. In 2014, Neil and his husband, Billy, co-founded the New Haven Academy of Performing Arts (NHAOPA), dedicated to nurturing artistic talent in Connecticut. The academy’s success led to the establishment of two additional ventures, the Broadway on Main Theatre Company and Cabaret on Main Theater. Together, these companies form the NHAOPA Group, which is committed to arts education and entertainment. A visionary creator, Neil continues to innovate through productions that blend humor, heart, and culture. From Halloween cabarets like The Sinister Symphony to holiday concerts and unique community events, Neil strives to entertain while fostering an inclusive space for artists of all ages. Neil’s journey is a testament to his belief in the transformative power of the arts.
