‘Active Assailant’ Training To Be Held At Avangrid In Orange

Officials are advising residents to be prepared for potential sirens, road closures, and a significant police presence at the training.

ORANGE, CT — Police are advising residents that Avangrid will host a multi-agency active assailant training exercise at the company’s offices at 100 and 180 Marsh Hill Road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Avangrid’s Corporate Security & Resilience team is facilitating the event in partnership with the Town of Orange Police Department, according to a news release.

“The public should be prepared for potential sirens, road closures, and a significant presence of police and first responders near the two buildings,” officials wrote in the news release. “This event aims to enhance the preparedness of our organization and first responders to react swiftly and effectively in the event of a real security incident.”

Avangrid Vice President and Chief Security Officer Brian Harrell, Orange Police Department Chief Robert Gagne, and representatives from other federal, state, and local agencies will be in attendance.
