Contractor Paid $100K For Work He Didn't Complete In Orange: Police
A contractor was paid to complete a kitchen and custom cabinetry but didn't deliver the work, according to police.
ORANGE, CT — A Milford contractor was arrested on allegations that he was hired to perform work that he never completed, according to Orange police.
Scott Furtado, 53, is the owner of Custom Stiles Woodworking, LLC and was hired by Orange residents to complete a kitchen and custom cabinetry in a home being built.
Furtado received payments of over $100,000 but had not delivered any of the contracted work in over a year, police said.

A police investigation found that Furtado had failed to fulfill the contract and could not refund the money he had been paid.
He was arrested on a warrant April 25 and charged with four counts of first-degree larceny. He posted $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on May 8.

Police later turned over Furtado to Fairfield police who held an active arrest warrant for him for similar larceny and home improvement charges.
