Man Critically Injured In Orange Nightclub Shooting: Police

Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward.

ORANGE, CT — A 34-year-old man is hospitalized and in critical condition Friday after being shot at the local Top Quality Vibez nightclub, according to police.

Yale New Haven Hospital personnel notified Orange police on Friday at 12:42 a.m. that the man had been brought to the emergency department in a private vehicle.

A witness who was with the man told hospital security the shooting happened at the Top Quality Vibez nightclub at 501 Boston Post Rd., Orange, according to a police press release.

Orange police went to the club and found blood and spent shell casings near the door, which was closed and locked, police said.

Initial responders secured the scene, and detectives arrived to investigate. Police also went to the hospital and obtained evidence from the victim’s personal items, police said.

According to police, they believe there were many patrons at the club when the shooting happened, but no one called 911 or alerted emergency personnel.

As of mid-day Friday, police said the club’s owner had not responded to inquiries from Orange detectives.
