Man Going To Milk Cows Is Beaten, Robbed: Orange Police

Police said the man might have unknowingly interrupted a catalytic converter theft.

ORANGE, CT — Orange Police Department said they received a complaint that a man was assaulted and robbed at Field View Farm at Derby Avenue.

On May 20, at 4:01 a.m., the complainant exited his residence to milk cows, and he was approached by two unknown men wearing black face coverings, police said.

One of the men was believed to have a black handgun and struck the complainant in the head and face multiple times, police said.

The complainant suffered abrasions and contusions and was transported to an area hospital, police said.

Police said the suspects demanded money and stole the complainant’s wallet from his person before fleeing the area.

Located near vehicles parked in the area was a battery-operated Sawzall that is commonly used to cut catalytic converters from vehicles, police said.

The complainant might have unknowingly interrupted a theft when he was robbed, police said.

Police officials said the incident is under investigation by Officer Correia and Detective Ahern (RF Case #23-15535). Anyone with information can call police at 203-891-2138.
