Man Accused Of DUI In 300-Vehicle Caravan Driving Recklessly Through Towns: PD
A group of around 300 vehicles, including dirt bikes, ATVs and motorcycles, drove recklessly from West Haven into Milford, police said.
ORANGE, CT – Orange Police Department said one of the motorists was part of the 200 to 300 motorists who drove down the Boston Post Road from West Haven into Milford was charged for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Police officials said Justin Potts, 28, of Meriden, was charged with drinking while driving, reckless driving and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Police said on July 8, around 6:40 p.m., a large group of dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles estimated to number between 200 to 300 traveled recklessly down the Boston Post Road from West Haven into Milford.

Most of the vehicles were unregistered, and the operators were driving recklessly by popping wheelies, disregarding traffic signals and driving around vehicles and passing vehicles while driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, police said.
Police officials said Orange Police Department and surrounding communities received numerous complaints from concerned citizens.

Two Orange police officers were on an unrelated motor vehicle stop in the area of Boston Post Road and Lindy Street and recorded much of the activity on their vehicle's dash cam video, police said.
Orange Police said a Meriden police detective had seen a video on social media where Potts was drinking beer while driving and popping wheelies.
Lt. Michael Kosh completed an investigation and secured a warrant for the arrest of Potts, police said.
Police officials said Potts turned himself in on July 19 and was released on a written promise to appear with a Derby Superior court date of Aug. 2.
Orange Police Department continues the investigation and is continuing to look to identify additional operators of the vehicles.
