New West Haven Station Open Sunday
New station on the Metro-North line adds a stop between New Haven and Milford.
The new West Haven train station is set to open this Sunday, Aug. 18, adding a stop along the Metro-North between New Haven and Milford.
The new “contemporary” station — designed and funded by the state Department of Transportation (DOT) — features two buildings. The main building includes the waiting area and room for vendors, offices and restrooms. The secondary, smaller building links to the main station through a pedestrian overpass.
Both the inbound and outbound platforms have kiosk ticket machines, benches, bike racks and room for concession stands, as well as artwork and covered waiting areas.
For the time being, all trains stopping at the New Haven station will also stop at the West Haven station. Ticket prices are the same for both stations, as well, as they are in the same zone.
