Business Significantly Damaged In Fire, Orange Officials Say
The immediately adjacent businesses were temporarily closed, officials said.
ORANGE, CT — The Town of Orange Fire Marshal's Office said on Saturday that the Orange Volunteer Fire Department responded to a smell of smoke at the row of stores at 517-519 Boston Post Road.
Upon arrival, personnel entered a cosmetology business to investigate the odor. "Within seconds, firefighters noticed the front windows of the adjacent salon were soot-covered. The front door was forced and a significant fire was found in the salon," fire officials said.
The fire appears to be accidental in nature, officials said, while adding that nobody was injured. The immediately adjacent businesses will be closed temporarily to allow for clean up but should be back open to the public by the end of the day.

"This incident stresses the importance of a monitored fire alarm system," fire officials said in a statement. "While not code required, had there been a monitored fire alarm system, the department would’ve been notified early in the event and could’ve prevented most of the fire damage."
