Frances Bichi Mantiglia, 101, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Mantiglia Sr., passed away on January 8, 2026 surrounded by her family at Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus. Loving mother of Joseph E. (Deborah) Mantiglia Jr. of Orange and Carla B. Mantiglia of Orange and Fairfield. Grandmother of Anthony Mantiglia. Frances was predeceased by her brother, Americo Bichi. She is also survived by many relatives. Frances was born in Florence, Italy on April 28, 1924 daughter of the late Carlo and Palmira (Guarnieri) Bichi. She immigrated to the United States at age 3. Frances loved cooking, traveling the world, fashion, art and music. She was a woman of great faith and was very devoted to her church. Prior to her retirement, Frances worked for the Town of Orange--she loved working, so much so that she retired at age 91.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven TUESDAY morning, January 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
