Orange Police Sergeant Promoted To Lieutenant

Jonathan DeRubeis, Orange's newest lieutenant, is a 15-year veteran of the department who served on a specialized response team for years.

ORANGE, CT — An Orange police sergeant who first joined the department as a patrol officer in 2007 has become its newest lieutenant, after he was recently sworn in.

Jonathan DeRubeis was sworn in as a lieutenant on Friday afternoon, the police department said on Facebook, and he has initially been assigned to the overnight patrol division.

Lt. DeRubeis served on the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team — a unit that responds to situations which require advanced equipment, training, and technique — from 2010 to 2015, and he was promoted to sergeant in 2017.
