Orange Volunteer FD Responded To 7 Calls On Mother's Day
Orange Volunteer Fire Department Officials said calls for service increased in 2023 compared to last year.

ORANGE, CT — Orange Volunteer Fire Department officials said the call volume the department handles has been steadily increasing.
In 2023, fire officials said the department responded to 257 calls for services, compared to last year when they responded to 235 calls.
Included in the increased calls for service was Mother’s Day, as the Orange Volunteer Fire Department responded to seven calls for service on Sunday, May 14.

Here is a look at all seven calls:
- At 3:27 a.m., firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 15 exit 56 for an extraction, fire officials said.
- At 4:27 a.m., fire personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident rollover on I-95 exit 41 northbound for a serious injury, fire officials said.
- At 9:50 a.m., fire personnel responded to an appliance fire/equipment failure at Grassy Hill Country Club, 411 Clarke Ln. The sprinkler system extinguished the fire, fire officials said.
- At 12:40 p.m., fire personnel responded to a brush fire/mulch fire at 501 Boston Post Rd. where the minor fire was extinguished, fire officials said.
- At 6:35 p.m., fire personnel responded to an activated alarm at 543 Boston Post Road. A customer accidentally triggered the alarm, fire officials said.
- At 6:48 p.m., fire personnel provided mutual aid covering Woodbridge Fire Station, fire officials said.
- At 10: 27 p.m., fire personnel provided mutual aid covering Derby Fire Station, fire officials said.
