Orange Woman Charged After Wrong-Way DUI Crash On Route 8: State PD
A woman was arrested after police said she was driving the wrong way while under the influence when she crashed head-on into another vehicle
SHELTON, CT — An Orange woman is accused of operating under the influence when she was driving in the wrong direction and crashed head-on with another vehicle early Wednesday morning on Route 8 in Shelton, according to Connecticut State Police.
State troopers responded around 1:25 a.m. to Route 8 North near Exit 12 on the report of a wrong-way driver traveling south in the northbound lanes, according to police.
Police said that as troopers were responding to the area, they were advised that the wrong-way driver had collided with another vehicle head-on.

At the scene, police said troopers identified the wrong-way driver as 39-year-old Andrea Lynn Marseglia of Orange. Marseglia was driving a white 2014 Lexus IS250.
The adult driver and 14-year-old passenger of the other vehicle were taken to an area hospital for evaluation for suspected non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

“During the on-scene investigation, it was determined that Marseglia was exhibiting signs of impairment,” police wrote in a news release. “Marseglia willingly performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she ultimately did not perform to standard.”
Marseglia was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol / drugs, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a child, failure to drive in proper lane, and driving the wrong way on a divided highway. She was released after posting a $5,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 11.
