• Big Y To Open New Store In Space Considered By Stew Leonard's In Orange (patch.com) — Shoppers in Orange can look forward to a new 53,000‑square‑foot Big Y supermarket planned for Colonial Commons on Indian River Road, slated to open in spring 2027. The project replaces a long-discussed but stalled Stew Leonard’s proposal and is touted by both Big Y and the plaza’s owner as a major investment in jobs, convenience, and community presence for Orange residents.
   

• Man 'Inappropriately Touched' Teen After Offering To Help Her: Orange Police (patch.com) — Orange police report that a Norwalk man was arrested after allegedly inappropriately touching and soliciting sex from a 17‑year‑old he had offered to help, then driving her toward Home Depot in Orange. Detectives from Orange and Norwalk identified the suspect, secured a warrant, and took him into custody on multiple sexual assault‑related charges, with bond set at $250,000.
   

• Amazing Animal Ambassadors Coming to Orange (orangetownnews.com) — Families in Orange can look forward to a live animal show at High Plains Community Center on Saturday, Jan. 17, featuring parrots, exotic mammals, reptiles, and insects. Hosted by Orange Community Women and sponsored by the Orange Foundation, the event supports local scholarships, veterans, seniors, the library, and several Orange-based charities. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.
