Richard “Diesel” C. Lambert Sr., 80, of West Haven, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Richard “Diesel” C. Lambert Sr., 80, of West Haven, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on June 12, 1945, he was the son of the late George and Carrie (Cooper) Lambert.

He is survived by his children, Richard C. Lambert Jr (Shawn Merk) of Milford, and Renee Hunt (Chris) of West Haven; his grandchildren, Jacob Lambert of Virginia, and Samantha Lambert of Milford; his longtime partner Maureen Johnston of West Haven; his special nieces and nephews, Linda and Andy Cooper, and Maizie and Michael Zame; and his many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John “Jack” Lambert of North Franklin, CT.

Richard was the owner and operator of R. Lambert Paving in Milford.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
