Scattered Power Outages Reported as Thunderstorm Watch Issued

A large storm cell will be moving through the city Friday evening and a thunderstorm watch and hazardous weather outlook has been issued, according to the National Weather Service.

"Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain," according to the NWS.

As of 7:10 p.m., UI was reporting eight outages affecting 1,087 customers; UI is reporting that 27,343 customers are without power.
