Victim ID Released In Fatal Route 15 Accident in Orange: UPDATE

ORANGE, CT — State police said Michael J. Zawadski, 44, of Judson Place in Stratford was killed after a rollover crash on Route 15 southbound in Orange near Exit 56 Saturday afternoon.

Zawadski was in the right lane south of Exit 57 when Taylor M. Stanford, 21, of Milford, was in the left lane traveling at a "high rate of speed," and her vehicle veered left off of the roadway, ran over a curb located in the median, State Police said. She then lost control of her vehicle and hit Zawadski's vehicle, State Police said.

Zawadski's vehicle then rolled over and he was thrown from the car, State Police said. His car ended up down an embankment. Stanford's vehicle hit a wire guardrail and she was partially ejected and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.

State Police said the highway was briefly shut down Saturday afternoon as a result of the accident. The accident occurred around 5 p.m. State Police are investigating.

ORANGE, CT — One person has been killed following a roll over crash on Route 5/15 in Orange near exit 56 Saturday afternoon, police said. The crash involved two vehicles.

The roll over closed all lanes of the highway when police reported a crash with "serious" injuries just before 5 p.m. All lanes have since reopened.
