RIDGEFIELD, CT — Wilton Police Department has released the name of the 18-year-old involved in the Wilton-Ridgefield fight in August. A friendly scavenger hunt turned violent on Aug. 31, 2016 when a Ridgefield student urinated on rival Wilton's football field, according to police. Martynas Zoruba, 18, of Wilton was arrested on Oct. 11 and charged with breach of peace, police said.
Wilton police said the cause of the fight between students from rival high schools Ridgefield and Wilton was sparked by a dare to urinate on Wilton’s football field. A Ridgefield student was injured in the fight and was taken to Danbury Hospital, according to Lt. Stephen Brennan.
Some Ridgefield High School students publicized a scavenger hunt game, and Wilton students became aware that Ridgefield students would be coming to the football field, according to Brennan. Police said several juveniles from Wilton and Ridgefield, all believed to be high school students, were involved in the altercation which led to a Ridgefield student being assaulted and later brought to the Danbury Hospital's emergency room for injuries suffered during the altercation. According to Brennan, one of the items on the scavenger hunt list was a dare to urinate on the football field.
