9 UFO Sightings Reported In Connecticut In 2017: Check Out The Full List

The National UFO Reporting Center keeps records on all reported sightings, and sightings have been reported at all corners of the state.

The presence of UFOs, or flying objects Nutmeggers believe might be a UFO, seems to have decreased so far this year. After 10 UFO sightings were reported just in December of 2016, only eight sightings have been reported so far in 2017, according to the National UFO Reporting Center. Now don’t get us wrong, we’re not saying there are or aren't UFOs, but according to the NUFORC, the most recent sighting in Connecticut occurred in Harwinton on April 1 at around 11:45 p.m.

Reports have come in from all corners of the state, from Bridgeport to Berlin and even to New London. The descriptiveness of the reports vary from a "Massive UFO convention traveling through Connecticut," to flashing lights. However, the alleged "convention" ended up being candles released into the sky for someone's passing. (To receive free news alerts from your hometown in Connecticut click here.)

Sightings were reported in Guilford, New London, Columbia, East Haven, Bridgeport, Milford, Berlin and Harwinton. A report in New London cited a V-shaped object over the court house. A Guilford resident reported three round shapes burned into the grass in a field near his house. Flashing red and blue lights along with a red orb were reportedly seen in Columbia.

Allegedly, three people in Milford saw five silver saucers over the Long Island Sound in Milford. However, the witness chose to remain totally anonymous and did not provide any contact information. The anonymous witness in East Haven was very descriptive about what they saw.

"I was driving home from work and came around the bend to see a few bright lights hovering over the water near Anthony's Oceanside restaurant. It looked like possibly a drone, but was enormous. I assumed there was something going on at the resort and this was some kind of manned object. However, as I drove out of sight, the houses were blocking my view, I noticed the lights seeming to move away from the water. As I rounded the corner towards the intersection, I saw the craft cross the intersection several hundred feet ahead of me. It was hovering maybe 50 feet above the ground, it appeared to move over the powerlines, passing by the Morris Cove fire house and by the pizza place, down the road. I did not follow. It had red and white lights, and was triangular in shape as far as I could tell. The lights hovering above the ground were the easiest thing to see in the darkness. It looked to be at least the size of a large car, but much wider at the base."

In case you’re wondering what the National UFO Reporting Center is, it’s been around since 1974 and it investigates UFO sightings and has put together a list of more than 90,000 sightings around the world.
