Planners Rule on Ridgefield Little League Field: Report
Two town boards voted on the fate of a proposed little league field on the Redding and Ridgefield line.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — It appears the town will soon have a new Little League baseball field, according to a report from the News Times. Both the Inlands and Wetlands Board and the Planning and Zoning commission voted to approve a lighted Little League field with a 60-spot parking lot Tuesday.
The votes came after three hotly-contested public hearings attended by residents of both Ridgefield and Redding. The proposed field would be located at the intersection of Rte. 7 and Simpaug Turnpike.
Neighbors argued that the plans would cause unnecessary noise and lights, while supporters of the field argue the league needs a new field to allow for nighttime games and making it easier for parents.
