Police Investigating Possible Shooting in Ridgefield: Reports

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police are investigating a shooting that may have lead to the hospitalization of a 15-year-old girl from Waterbury, according to multiple reports including the Ridgefield Press. Police responded to Hulda Lane for reports of gunshots in the area and at the same time were told by a homeowner that someone had tried to steal a car from their .

Police were later told that the 15-year-old girl with a gunshot wound was being treated at Waterbury Hospital, and investigation revealed she may have been in Ridgefield. Police say the girl is expected to survive the wound.

Police say that the State Police Major Crime Squad and Danbury Superior Court are investigating the incidents. Ridgefield Police were not immediately available for comment. Check back with Patch for updates.
