Ridgefield 2025 Budget Referendum: Here's What Passed
Ridgefield voters passed seven budget measures on May 13, including education, road, and public safety funding for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Voters approved all seven questions in the town’s annual budget referendum held on May 13, authorizing a range of expenditures for municipal operations, education, infrastructure, and public safety for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
The $52.9 million town operating budget passed with 1,122 votes in favor and 299 opposed, according to results posted on the town clerk's website. This includes $44.9 million for operating expenses and $7.9 million for debt service on both town and education capital projects.
The $119.8 million Board of Education budget was approved with 1,021 yes votes and 402 no votes.

A $2.1 million appropriation for road and ADA improvements passed 1,207 to 216.
Voters also approved a $1.14 million bond package for town vehicles and sidewalk and road work, with 1,122 votes in favor and 300 against.

Funding for parks and recreation projects, including tennis and pickleball court replacements and golf tee box renovations, passed by a narrower margin of 890 to 523.
A $707,741 bond package for police, fire, and senior transportation equipment was approved 1,091 to 322.
Finally, a $2.34 million education bond to support facility upgrades, technology infrastructure, classroom furniture, and playground improvements passed 1,068 to 350.
The approved budgets and bond packages will fund projects beginning in the fiscal year that starts July 1, 2025.
