Ridgefield Architect Wins Major Award
A Ridgefield architect has been honored for her leadership in sustainable design and advocacy for equity in architecture.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Elizabeth DiSalvo, founder and principal of Trillium Architects Cooperative in Ridgefield, has received the 2025 Women in Architecture Award from AIA Connecticut, recognizing her leadership in sustainable design and her role as a pioneer in the region’s green building movement.
The annual award honors women architects whose work demonstrates excellence in design, leadership, and a commitment to equity and environmental responsibility. DiSalvo was cited for advancing sustainable residential architecture and fostering an employee-owned firm model that emphasizes collaboration and shared opportunity.
DiSalvo’s firm specializes in Net Zero, Passive House, and LEED-certified homes across Fairfield and Westchester counties. She also founded SEED Homes and NetZ GenZ Homes, which focus on affordable, modular Net Zero housing.

Her career spans more than 20 years, with architectural experience in Connecticut, New York, Colorado, and California. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Columbia University, DiSalvo has also worked with Centerbrook Architects and remains active as a co-chair of AIA Connecticut’s Small Firms Exchange.
Jurors praised this year’s recipients for their vision, impact, and dedication to socially and environmentally responsible architecture.
