Ridgefield Brewery's Opening Date Announced

The highly-anticipated craft brewery is set to open soon in Ridgefield. New details about the business were announced Monday.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The town's first taproom and brewery is set to open in October on Ethan Allen Highway, according to a press release Monday. Nod Hill Brewery promises "high quality beers in an elegant and comfortable taproom," according to the release.

“Like the campfire in our logo, Nod Hill Brewery will be a welcoming gathering place for friends, family and beer lovers to meet, relax and enjoy locally brewed beer," said founder Dave Kay in a press release.

The taproom will hold around 55 people, including a small private function space. The brewery will distribute to local establishments that cater to craft beer drinkers. The brewery won't be serving food, but beer enthusiasts are welcome to bring food and there will also be food trucks parked on the weekends.

The brewery will be open Thursdays 4 to 8 p.m., Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 12 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m. Children will be welcome.

Nod Hill got the local heads up back in January, successfully adding two new definitions to the town's zoning regulations so that it could operate. It's using a 2,440 square foot space to create a 1,765 square foot brewing and storage facility, according to the News Times.

The brewery will offer six beers on draft at all times, in addition to regular cask and special bottle offerings. Beer lovers in the area first tasted the offerings at the Bethel Beer Fest on Friday, according to the Ridgefield Press.

“We were inspired to create a venue that reflects not only our love of beer but the magical experience we have had with friends and families in those special places," Kay said in a press release.
