RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Tigers 12-and-up softball team won the 2023 United States Specialty Sports Association National Championship, held this past weekend in Sterling, VA, competing against 31 teams.

It's the first-ever USSSA Ridgefield girls softball championship, according to the team's social media.

The Tigers are: Morgan Manfro 1B, Riley Rotunno 2B/RF, Jada Metzger SS/Pitcher, Caitlin McGratty SS/Pitcher, Natalie Insinga 3B/CF, Audrey Englert CF/3B, Avery Kuntz RF/2B/Pitcher, Emma Samoskevich C/CF, Ellie Murphy C/LF, Ella Metzger LF, Vita Figaro LF and Zoe Fehring RF.

Off the diamond, key positions were head coach Alyssa DeStefano; director of training and Ddevelopment, Angelo Formisano; and team managers, Stacy McGratty, Jason Metzger, Kevin Kuntz, Meg LiVolsi, and Jill Rotunno.

Tigers' player Caitlin McGratty was named "Outstanding Pitcher," and Jada Metzger was honored as the tournament's "Most Valuable Player" by USSSA.
