Ridgefield Schedules Hearings On Proposed Government Changes

Among the many topics on table: Should Ridgefield hire a professional town administrator? Here's your chance to weigh in…

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Town of Ridgefield’s Form of Government Committee will hold two public hearings in June to gather feedback on proposed changes to the town’s governance structure.

The hearings are scheduled for Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. and Monday, June 16 at 7 p.m., both in the large conference room at Town Hall.

Among the committee’s recommendations is the hiring of a professional town administrator to help manage the increasingly complex responsibilities of a town with a population of 25,000. Additional proposals include adjustments to the roles and responsibilities of the Town Meeting and the Board of Selectpersons, aimed at improving their effectiveness while preserving voter input. The committee is also suggesting changes to how Town Meetings are scheduled and conducted.
