Weir Farm National Park In Ridgefield Seeks Volunteers for 2025 Season
Weir Farm National Historical Park is now recruiting volunteers ages 13+ for flexible roles in the 2025 season. Orientation starts in April.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Weir Farm National Historical Park is seeking volunteers for its 2025 season through the National Park Service’s Volunteers-In-Parks (VIP) program.
Open to individuals aged 13 and up, the program offers flexible hours, training, and enrichment opportunities. New volunteer orientation begins in April.
Several roles are currently available:

- Tour Guides (ages 18+): Volunteers will lead visitors through the historic Weir and Young studios from May to October, Wednesday through Sunday. Duties include staffing the studios, engaging with guests, and assisting with events, tours, and school groups.
- Take Part in Art Volunteers (ages 13–18): Ideal for teens, this weekend role involves managing the park’s outdoor painting program. Responsibilities include stocking art kits and offering basic information to visitors.
- American Sign Language Interpreters: Volunteers will support accessibility by offering ASL interpretation for in-person programs and park media.
Prospective volunteers can apply by completing a Weir Farm Volunteer Application on volunteer.gov. Once submitted, the park’s volunteer coordinator will arrange a short interview and conduct a reference check. Additional information is available on the park's website.
