• Seymour couple surrendered starving dogs ‘without hesitation' hours before one died, warrant says (ctpost.com) — Seymour residents are learning more about an animal-cruelty case in which two severely malnourished dogs were removed from a local home, with one later dying despite veterinary care. Court records detail how officers and Woodbridge Animal Control intervened at the Seymour residence this fall, the ongoing recovery of the surviving dog, and upcoming court dates for the two people charged.
   

• Firefighter, resident taken to hospital after Ansonia house fire (fox61.com) — Seymour firefighters were among several area departments called to help Ansonia crews battle a serious house fire on South Cliff Street Monday night, where one firefighter and a resident were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The blaze displaced multiple residents, required Red Cross assistance, and challenged responders with icy conditions that forced extra manpower and a warming bus.
