1 Dead After Crash, Car Fire In Shelton: Police

Police said they are investigating the death of a man following a fiery crash late Sunday night in Shelton.

SHELTON, CT — Officers are investigating the death of a man following a fiery crash late Sunday night in Shelton, according to police.

In a news release, Police Det. Christopher Nugent said Shelton police, fire and EMS officers responded to a report of a car on fire at the intersection of Commerce and Research drives around 11:30 p.m.

First responders pulled a man from the car and took him to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Nugent.

The Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the incident, Nugent said.

Nugent also noted the department has not released the man's identity yet because they are notifying his family.
