2 Cats Rescued From Trailer Fire In Shelton: FD
Fire officials said crews rescued two cats from a fire that broke out in the kitchen of a trailer at a Shelton trailer park.
SHELTON, CT — Two cats were rescued from a fire that broke out in the kitchen of a trailer at a Shelton trailer park Monday night, according to fire officials.
In a news release, fire officials said they received a report of a structure fire at the Woodland Trailer Park around 5:30 p.m.
When crews arrived, they spotted smoke emitting from the trailer and reported a working fire, officials said.

Firefighters quickly entered the trailer and extinguished the flames. Other crew members searched for and found two cats inside the trailer, one of which was found unresponsive and was revived by fire personnel, officials said.
The cat was then transported to a local veterinary hospital while the other remained with the owner, officials said.

The trailer was declared not habitable and the owner is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire, officials said.
