2 Charged With Stealing Car After Fleeing From Officers: Shelton PD
Police said two people accused of stealing a vehicle from Stratford were arrested in Shelton after fleeing from officers on foot.

SHELTON, CT — Two people accused of stealing a vehicle from Stratford were arrested early Tuesday morning in Shelton after fleeing from officers on foot, according to police.
In a news release, Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said officers were notified just after midnight about a recent stolen vehicle out of Stratford.
Several officers who were working a construction job in downtown Shelton at the time noticed the vehicle in a parking lot on Center Street.

As officers approached the vehicle, three people fled on foot, according to Kozlowsky. Officers searched the area and were able to locate two of the three suspects.
Devin Overton, 18, of Ansonia, was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering.

Overton was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in October, according to Kozlowsky.
A 17-year-old man from Shelton was also arrested on the same charges and later released, Kozlowsky said.
