2011 Grand List Report & Top 10 Taxpayers
The office of the mayor reports that Shelton's grand list decreased 14.7 percent

's net grand list as of Oct. 1, 2011 decreased 14.7 percent from the prior 2010 grand list. The 2011 grand list shows a decrease in assessed value of $768.9 million according to figures released by Mayor Mark A. Lauretti.
Overall, the decrease is consistent with surrounding cities and towns that have reevaluated for the Oct. 1, 2011 grand list, Lauretti said.
The Board of Aldermen, however, will set the mill rate for the 2011 grand list in May 2012.

The grand list represents the assessed value of all taxable property including commercial, industrial, residential, business, personal property and motor vehicles. The total net grand list is set at an assessed value of $4,474,128,051 for 2011.
The Real Property decreased 17.7 percent.

The Business Personal Property List increased $34,054,850, or 11.2 percent.
The Motor Vehicle List increased $18,916,791, or 6.5 percent.
The Grand List can be subject to change by the Board of Assessment Appeals,
which will be conducting hearings beginning March 29, 2012. Appeals have to be
submitted an writing to the Board no later than March 20, and the Board will schedule an appointment and notify the appellant.
