Court officials said a Shelton man accused of distributing child pornography was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man accused of receiving and distributing child pornography was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison Thursday, according to an announcement from David Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
In a news release, Sullivan said Burnest Geyer Jr., 32, of Shelton, was sentenced to 150 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release "for engaging in a pattern of activity involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors, including attempting to produce child pornography."
According to court documents and statements made in court, police began investigating Geyer after they learned Geyer had told someone he possessed child pornography videos and had communicated with a second person through Telegram, an encrypted phone messaging application, about his child pornography collection.
