3 Shelton Police Veterans Retiring

Detectives Ben Trabka, Thomas Federowicz and Officer David Murad will be leaving the Police Department, each with at least 25 years under their belts.

The three retirements follow the retirement of Capt. Michael Madden, who is becoming the chief of Paris, Maine.

He, Trabka and Federowicz have acted as police department spokesmen at times. Murad was skilled in drunken driving investigation, said Thomas Taylor, administrative assistant in City Hall.

Trabka has 25 years, Federowicz has 32 and Murad has nearly 30 years on the force.

Murad has retired while the detectives are scheduled to leave in mid-October, Taylor said.

Madden has estimated Shelton's police force at 52 uniformed officers.
