Ambulance Driver 5K Road Race Set For Wednesday In Derby

DERBY, CT — Storms Ambulance will hold their first annual Ambulance Driver 5K road race Wednesday night at Bad Sons Brewery in Derby.

In a Facebook post, police said the event will begin at the brewery, located at 251 Roosevelt Drive, with registration at 6 p.m. and the race start at 7 p.m.

According to police, the race route is as follows: Park Avenue right on Cedric Avenue, right on Hawthorne Avenue, left on Chatfield Street, right into the Derby High/Middle School campus before doubling back.

The roadways along the route will be closed during the race for approximately one hour, and drivers are asked to anticipate some minor traffic delays, police said.

Parking will not be allowed along the race route, and signs will be posted in advance. There will also be a detour set up on E Street with an officer posted to control vehicular traffic, according to police.

"Please be patient and pay attention to signage," police said on Facebook.
