Amy Romano Sworn In As New Shelton State Representative
Newly elected Republican Amy Romano was recently sworn-in as state representative of Shelton's 113th Assembly District.

SHELTON, CT — Newly elected Republican Amy Romano was officially sworn-in Friday as state representative of Shelton's 113th Assembly District.
According to a news release provided by the Connecticut General Assembly, Romano claimed victory Tuesday night for the position recently vacated by current State Senator Jason Perillo (R-Shelton).

Romano was surrounded by friends and family as she assumed her position and commented on her commitment to common sense policy and working across the aisle, according to the release.
"I am truly honored to be here representing the hardworking residents of Shelton," Romano said in a news release. "I want to thank Senator Perillo for his many years of dedicated service to our community as state representative, and I plan to continue his legacy of leadership and wisdom. Although we may be in the middle of our legislative session, my work to address the high cost of living, reduce unnecessary taxes, and secure state funding for local education and development begins today. I look forward to meeting with colleagues to establish bipartisan solutions that put the interests and values of Shelton first."

Romano is expected to receive her committee assignments this week as the House convenes for session Monday at 11 a.m., according to the release.
