Pat Gillen Recieves Male Athlete of the Year Award

On Saturday, June 25, 2011 Patrick Gillen received the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) State Male Athlete of the Year Award at halftime of the Governor's Cup football game (CT vs. RI).

His father, Bob Gillen, said the family was told that Patrick is the first wrestler, as well as the first Shelton athlete, to win the award.

Also, Patrick was recently named Academic All American by the NHSCA for the 4th year in a row. He is the first athlete to be an academic and athletic All American four times.
