Anna Adamska - Obituary

Beloved Mother & Grandmother - Devout Catholic

Anna Adamska, age 87 of Derby, beloved wife of the late Gerard Adamski, died peacefully on August 19, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Poland on October 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Aleksander and Eleonora Lemanski. Mrs. Adamska immigrated to the United States in 1990 and has since been a resident of the valley. She worked for Sodexo at Fairfield University for 30 years, until the time of her retirement in 2020. Her friendly character and outgoing personality endeared her to many students throughout the years. A devout Catholic and member of St. Michael Church of Derby, she was devoted to the Rosary and the Divine Mercy. Mrs. Adamska will be long remembered for her special love for her family, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted children, Grażyna Bednarczyk and her husband, Andrzej of Beacon Falls, Elżbieta Puczynski of Naugatuck, Wiesława Kosek and her husband, Franciszek of Derby and Zbigniew Jan Adamski and his wife Beata of Derby; 8 cherished grandchildren and 7 cherished great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Adamska was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment will directly follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
