Vehicles Seriously Damaged, Driver Pinned Inside After Shelton Crash: FD

Fire officials said one of the drivers was pinned inside their vehicle and required extrication following a two-car crash in Shelton.

SHELTON, CT — A driver was pinned inside their vehicle and required extrication following a two-car crash early Wednesday morning in Shelton, according to fire officials.

In a news release, fire officials said the crash was reported around 7 a.m. in the area of River Road and Mount Pleasant Street.

When crews arrived, they found two seriously damaged vehicles, fire officials said.

One of the drivers was also found pinned inside their vehicle and needed extrication, according to fire officials.

Several hydraulic extrication tools were used to remove the vehicle's door and part of its roof to free the driver from the wreckage, which took about seven minutes, fire officials said.

Both drivers were taken to a local trauma facility for treatment, according to fire officials.
