Shelton, Connecticut - Center Stage Theatre, an inclusive and intergenerational community-based theatre providing high quality and affordable performances, educational programming and volunteer opportunities, today announced its 2026 season line-up. “Matilda” will kick off the theatre’s 21st season on February 20, 2026, followed by four musicals, including the annual summer production featuring actors aged 14-23, as well its education center line-up and summer programming for young actors.
“As we enter our 21st season, we are excited to offer a line-up of programming that appeals to our patrons of all ages,” said Carla Sullivan, managing director, Center Stage Theatre. “Our organization is proud to be a stalwart member of the community, providing entertainment, education and volunteer opportunities for those already in love with the arts or curious about theatre. We will continue to work hard to bring high-quality, affordable performances to our audiences!”
The 2026 subscription series includes:
- “Matilda” – February 20 – March 8, 2026
- “Jerry’s Girls” – April 10-19, 2026
- “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical” – July 17 – August 2, 2026 (annual summer production featuring performers aged 14-23)
- “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” – September 25 – October 4, 2026
- “Bye, Bye Birdie” – November 12-22, 2026
“We are excited to be maintaining a new tradition here at Center Stage Theatre next season as well – marking the fifth consecutive year that the first mainstage show of the year will be followed by a 60-minute junior version featuring actors in grades 5-8 performing a full staged production on the mainstage set,” added Sullivan. “’Matilda Jr.’ will take place March 12-15. Additional educational offerings will include ‘Miss Nelson Is Missing’ March 20-22, followed by two Fall performance opportunities for actors in grades 2-12 and summer programming options announced at a later date.”
Adult and student subscriptions for the 2026 season will be available in November online and through the box office. Single tickets, including seats for education center performances, go on sale one month before opening night of each show with group rates available.
